Kellogg Reaction

We went to Kellogg Elementary school. It was a very nice experience. I have never seen a school let alone an elementary school like that before. It was amazing, they had so much material that the children could absorb and learn from. There wasn't a bare wall in that school. It was decorated and programmed for learning. I wish I could of went to elementary school like that. They said the children were actually excited to go to school and were disappointed when they had to leave. Those students are going to be so smart and ahead of the game. They all are going to be well rounded students not just the extremely smart students everyone in the Kellogg environment will succeed. They had different learning station in the rooms, they were tables and some students would learn about math and others would do reading. They would spend about 15-20 mins on each subject and be asked questions the whole time and then they would switch. One other thing I think that is a good idea that Kellogg is doing is that they are not just providing extra help in reading but also extra help in math.

It is a wonderful school and should be how every school should be set up and ran. Hopefully in the near future more school will be following in Kellogg's footsteps. I am very lucky that I got to see Kellogg Elementary school and know what is possible with 21st century learning.

I agree with you completely, however. If they don't hurry and 21st centuryilize..weird word i know.. the following schools that the students will be attending, what will happen to them then?

Yeah it's kind of a bad thing that only one school is like this right now, because these kids are going to be very uncomfortable once they're out of that type of environment.

It was very amazing! It's hard to believe that kids are acutally happy to be at school. I hope every school can eventually reach the point where Kellogg is

I think it's important that more schools catch on. I wonder what it's going to be like for these kids when they go to middle school where they're taught a different way with kids from other schools that are used to this type of teaching.

yeah i liked how there wasnt a blank spot on the wall. it gives the kids a chance to learn at all times of the day and the flashy look of the school would make them want to read and analyze all the information that is posted up around the school

I hope the schools I teach at use 21st Century methods and if not I'll do my best to introduce them to the school.

I loved school too when I was in elementary and middle school even without all the technology. I would cry at the end of every school year because I ws so sad for it to be over.

It was definitely a wonderful school and I really look forward to seeing that style progress through the rest of them in the state and country at some point.
